About Wales Beckons

Wales Beckons Ltd is an inbound tour company promoting Wales as a destination, based in Wales and run by Welsh people.

We have a long history of providing superbly curated holidays to India, SE Asia and a number of other destinations worldwide.  This changed in 2020, when worldwide travel came to a halt due to Covid. COVID was however the catalyst which brought about a new area to which we could apply our expertise, our home country in the UK, and this idea developed into “Wales Beckons Ltd” in 2022, specialising in and promoting Wales.

Our intention was to maintain our long-held belief that would-be visitors to any country need to be able to rely on their chosen tour operator to be knowledgeable about that country and to be able to curate and arrange a holiday, the itinerary for which will have been previously agreed with the enquirer.  We have always listened to our clients in the belief that what we do will enable them to be totally satisfied that they will find the holiday fully meets their expectations.

We prepare set tours based on what our knowledge and insight tell us will be interesting to those who do not require a ‘tailor-made’ tour. These can be found on this website, but our strength lies in producing  ‘tailor-made’ tours curated individually for our clients.

Our specific area of interest is in arranging ancestry tours for people whose ancestors left Wales for a life elsewhere, particularly in America. Working with one of the finest Genealogists in Wales, we are able to ensure that clients’ ancestors’ historical locations are established by very careful research and then everything is put together in a superb tour in Wales to bring your history to life. We have even been able to find present-day relatives of their ancestors.

Golf is also very important to us, and we are actively involved with promoting golf in Wales and are working closely with the Machynys Golf Club and Resort in Llanelli, one of Wales best Links courses.

We are also very honoured to say that Wales Beckons is appointed partners to HH King Jigmed Namgyal Wangchuk of Ladakh in his Foundation, Sustainable Ladakh Initiative Foundation www.sustainableladakh.org. We welcome hearing from people or companies which believe they might have something to contribute to the King’s aspiration to see a sustainable future for his north-west Indian country in the Himalayan mountain range.

In these uncertain days with currency fluctuations, you can be assured that the cost will always be based on the current rate of exchange. Nothing is based on guesses about what the currency value might be in the future.

Having been involved with tourism since 1993 and never having received a serious complaint, we are happy to stand on our record to satisfy any doubts about the safety of booking your holiday with us, but even so, we are insured by Jensten Underwriting (Commercial) Ltd, who are underwriters at Lloyd’s of London specialising in tour operator insurance.
